The first pocket sized music player was invented in 1954 by Texas Instruments and Regency Division of I.D.E.A. It was called Regency TR-1. This was only possible because instead of using vacuum tubes it used transistors wich wre invented in 1947. People who would use this are people that need something with them on the go.

The first Boom Box
The first Boom Box was developed in the mid 1970s and became popular because of their size and sound quality. Japan companies are the mass producers of these. They pretty much changed the size, shape, and colors to interest more people. People who use the product are music lovers that love to have it everywhere, and also very loud; possibly trying to please a lot of people.

First Walkman
The first walkman came out in 1979, it was the at the time the first portable music player in the world other than the transistor radio. It was created by the company Sony.the first personal stereo tape deck that used a cassete that was pocket sized. Also unlike the Transistor radio it featured a headphone jack instead of a speaker to keep your music private. Later on in time sony added AM and FM transmitors as well. Anyone who enjoyed music would have liked to have one of these.
