    Chinese Winter Offensive
    The winter offensive was the first major counter attack for the Chinese. Even though it didn't achieve its main goal it did affect the Japense. The Japenese didn't expect such a large attack from the Chinese.
  • Korea is divided by the 38th parallel

    Korea is divided by the 38th parallel
    Since the Soviets occupied the northern part of Korea the US wanted a evenly line dividing the areas. The agreement was that the Soviets would rule the north and the US would rule the south. The dividing left Seoul under the US line.
  • WWII Ends

    WWII Ends
    The war had finally ended when Japan had surrendered. Also when they surrendered they signed over the American battleship USS Missouri. Due to that the war had officially ended.
  • UN/South Korean troops cross the border into North Korea

    UN/South Korean troops cross the border into North Korea
    They entered the Korean Demilitarized Zone. They attempted to rollback the coomunist forces.
  • Korean War Begins

    Communists from North Korea begin to battle with South Korea. This was the first ever "limited war".
  • Battle of Pusan Perimeter

    Battle of Pusan Perimeter was a large battle between North Korea and the United Nations. North Korea had then retreated in defeat from the UN.
  • Battle of Inchon

    Battle of Inchon
    The Battle of Inchon was a very successful battle. They trapped the United Nations forces in the southeast corner of the penisula.
  • China enters the Korean War

    China's decision was to join the war was due to the Democratic Republic of Korea. It had to do with communism and the foreign immperialist powers.
  • Japanese occupuation of Korea begins

    Japanese occupuation of Korea begins
    For a time Korea was under the Japanese rule. Korea had to follow there government and there economy.
  • Cease Fire is Signed

    Cease Fire is Signed
    President Eisenhower goes to Korea thinking this may end the war. They then signed the aggreement and made the battle line at the 38th parallel.
  • President Eisenhower visits Korea

    President Eisenhower visits Korea
    Shortly after his election he goes visits Korea. He goes to Korea to see if he can find a way to end the war.
  • Korean War is officially over

    Korean War is officially over
    It ended when the armistice was signed. The agreement created the Korean Demilitarized Zone to seperate North and South Korea.
