U.S. Surrenders to the Philipinnes
The U.S. surrenders to the Japanese troops that were in the Philippines and surrendered all of the Philippines to the Japanese. The U.S. didn't have much air cover so they were very vulnerable to any Japanese air attacks. They didn't have much air cover because during Pearl Harbor, the Japanese decimated their air forces. They were left no choice, but to surrender the Philippines to the Japanese. -
Bataan Death March
After the U.S. surrendered the Bataan Peninsula to the Japanese there was a march with 75,000 Filipinos and Americans, they all had to make a march 65 miles to reach the prison camps. Many of the people in the march died of heat or exhaustion. -
Doolittle Raids
This was an operation where the U.S. made an air raid on the Japanese Capital, Tokyo. This was the first airstrike that Japan had received. This had a big boost on American morale after the Japanese strike on Pearl Harbor. -

This was the first air-sea battle of World War II. The Japanese were trying to make an invasion on the Allies, but the Allies were ready for them and the Allies were able to thwart the Japanese efforts. Both sides' carriers were greatly damaged, but the Japanese were left with not enough to do a ground strike so the Allies had a strategic victory. This skirmish lasted 4 days. -

This battle was the largest naval battle in WWII and could also be thought to be the largest naval battle in history. American and Australian navies fought against the Japanese. They were trying to take away the isolated lands that the Japanese had, these lands were vital for their oil supply, they were also vital for many other natural resources. The invasion turned out to be successful for the Allies. -

This was a conflict between the United States and the Japanese Empire. This was an invasion by the United States. This was one of the bloodiest fights in the U.S. marines history, this battle also showed the U.S. and the Allies that the Japanese really were willing to fight until the last man.The fight ended up being a U.S. victory. -

This was codenamed operation iceberg. The U.S. and the Japanese both fought in this battle. The Allies had planned to use the base that was located there, to help themselves with future operations. This was a victory for the Allies in the end. -
