Hull’s Proclamation
On July 12, 1812, Hull issued a proclamation to the residents of Upper Canada. Hull claimed that the Americans were there to free and protect the colonists from the "tyranny" of the British.

Siege of Detroit
Sir Isaac Brock, a commander of forces in upper Canada, led the British troops to victory against US allied with the Native Americans under their leader Tecumseh; intimitating William Hull who later surrenderred. It was a British vitory.

Sir Isaac Brock
Brock's actions earned him a knighthood, membership in the Order of the Bath, and also the title "The Hero of Upper Canada". Brock died at the Battle of Queenston Heights, which was a British victory.

Battle of York
It was an amphibious invasion across Lake Ontario to attack the Upper Canadian capital of York. The Americans accepted the surrender of York, occupied the town for a few days, burned government buildings. The Americans were victorious.

Laura Secord
She was a Canadian heroine of the War of 1812. She is known for having walked 20 miles out of American-occupied territory in 1813 to warn British forces of an impending American attack.

Battle of Lake Erie
Nine vessels of the United States Navy defeated and captured six vessels of British Royal Navy. This ensured American control of the lake for the rest of the war, which in turn allowed the Americans to recover Detroit and win the Battle of the Thames.

Tecumseh
He was a Native American leader of the Shawnee and a large tribal confederacy which opposed the United States during Tecumseh's War and became an ally of Britain in the War of 1812.

Battle of the Thames
Tecumseh was killed during the Battle of Thames that took place in Canada. It was an American victory.

Lt. Colonel Charles de Salaberry
Charles de Salaberry commanded the advance guard of the force that turned away Henry Dearborn's northern attack at Lacolle Mill. Later, some of his Voltigeurs took part in the decisive Battle of Crysler's Farm, described by some as the battle that "saved Canada."

Battle of Chippewa
It was a victory for America during an invasion of Upper Canada along the Niagara River on July 5, 1814. It took place near Ft. Erie.

Battle of Plattsburgh
It ended the final invasion of the northern states of the United States. The battle took place shortly before the signing of the Treaty of Ghent which ended the war. It was an American victory.

The Treaty of Ghent
It ended the war without presenting any gains for either side. It basically returned to each side the territory it had possessed before the beginning of the war and said nothing about impressments.
