On December 31, 1999, Yeltsin unexpectedly announced his resignation and named Putin acting president. This was very unexpected and a little suspicious. Its not coomon for this to happen and everyone was questioning. -
George W. Bush and Vladimir Puttin
Vladimir Putin went against U.S. President George W. Bush’s decision to abandon the 1972 Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. This is what brought these two together. -

Pudin and Dmitry both run for president. Now people are starting to assume something is going on with Putin. -
New President
Vladimir Putin is inaugurated as president on May 7, 2012.
