This is the year that Moctezuma II became emperor to Tenochtitlan. He was the emperor until he died. Montezuma II was the ninth Aztec emperor of Mexico. -

This was when Moctezuma II’s daughter Isabel Moctezuma was born. He had other children and their names were María Xipaguazin, Tlaltecatzin, and Chimalpopoca. He had two boys and two girls. -

Hernan Cortez
Emperor Moctezuma II, the Aztec ruler back then, welcomed a Spanish explorer named Hernando Cortes with many rich gifts. He thought that Cortes might had been a god. Later Moctezuma was imprisoned by the Spanish. -

Death of Moctezuma II
Moctezuma died in Tenochtitlan in 1520. He died while fighting for freedom. When he was captured by the Spanish he tried to fight for his freedom but failed. -

The Aztec capital falls
This is the year when the Aztec capital Tenochtitlan falls. After Moctezuma II was captured and killed, Hernan Cortez and the Spanish forces take over Tenochtitlan. The last Aztec ruler was the husband of Isabel, Moctezuma II’s daughter. His name was Cuauhtemoc. -

Hernan Cortez and the Spanish have already taken over Tenochtitlan. Later they start to rebuild the city that Moctezuma II has spent years ruling and the year that Cuauhtemoc spent ruling. They are claiming it to be Mexico City the Capital of New Spain.
