    He was born on this date bringing his magical intelligence into this world. It is important because we would not have been moved for the Civil Rights Movement if he was not born.
  • On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to abide by one of Montgomery's laws requiring segregated seating on city buses.

    Rosa Parks made a huge movement for blacks to be able to sit where they wanted too on public buses. This is important because Blacks would still be sitting in the front of the bus if she had not refusen to give up her seat.
  • During the unsuccessful Albany, Georgia movement, King is arrested on July 27 and jailed.

    King got arrested for the Georgia movement and was put in jail. This is important because he tried standing up for what he believes in and he got arrested.
  • On June 23, MLK leads 125,000 people on a Freedom Walk in Detroit.

    This is the walk that was led and a lot of people were now free after this walk. This walk that MLK led was important because he freed a lot of people.
  • On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" Speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

    The speech brought greater attention to the Civil Rights movement, which had been going on for many years. This is important because before this noone was paying a lot of attention to the Civil Rights Movement.

    This is a big event because Martin Luther King, JR was an important activist in the U.S. He helped out the African American movement to be all equals and accepted by everyone.
