The Mitsubishi Zero was fast and really light because a new top secret 7075 aluminium alloy was developed by Sumitomo Metal Industries. Thee aluminium alloy was better than the others in that time. -
Mitsubishi Zero Engine
The Mitsubishi Zero engine was produced by Nakajima Sakae. A 14 cylinder air cooled radial engine. These engines were used in many planes for the Zeros before and after the war. -
Mitsubishi A5M Fighters
In early 1937 the Mitsubishi A5M fighters was entering a service when the JIN started to look for a replacement. In May 19, 1937 JIN (Japanese Imperial Navy) picked new navy fighters to supercede the Mitsubishi Zero. -

The Mitsubishi Zero acheived a kill ratio of 12 to 1 but, in 1942 more improed planes took advantage on the Zeros. -

Zero performance
Until mid-1943 the US airforces were surprised about how the zero was built. The Zero weighed 5,200 pounds and thats half less than the United Navy fighters. Some tested the Zero and they were surprised how the plane can turn. -
Abandoned A6M3 Zero
A abandoned A6M3 Zero was found at Munda Airfield. -
Mitsubishi Zero going weaker
The Mitubishi Zero was going weaker because the other newer air fighters had better engine and had better armour that made the Zero weak. -
Many abandoned Zero after war
After the war many Zeros were abandoned and was taken by US forces.
