    Archduke Assassination
    on 28 June 1914 in Sarajevo, the archduke and his wife were assassinated. The assassin was Gavrilo Princip. This event is what started The great war. The archduke was in a pervade for his right for throne. If the pervade didn't take the wrong turn he would have not been assassinated.
  • Germany invades Belgium

    Germany invades Belgium
    Starting off in the war Germany invades Belgium. Before invading Belgium Germany was told if they invade Belgium they are going to war. The 43,000 Belgium troops were holding back the German forces. Germany forces quickly overwhelmed their troops allowing Britten to join in the war.

    Germany fired a gas called xylyl bromide at the allies making the the war a gas war and killed 1,000 of allied troops on April 22, 1915. Germany launched their first offensive push of the year known as Second Battle of Ypres.more than 100,000 tons of chemical weapons agents were used in World War I, some 500,000 troops were injured, and almost 30,000 died, including 2,000 Americans.

    May,7,1915 without warning the Lusitania get hit by a torpedo by a German submarine and within 20 min the Lusitania Sinks.Of 1,959 passengers and crew, 1,198 people were drowned, including 128 Americans. The Lusitania sank so fast because it has military equipment on board and Germany new the U,S were trying to help them so they attacked the ship so Germany could not get the supplies.

    The British launched a large offensive attack on Germany 40 tanks. The tanks were not very effective because they just sank in the mud while getting heavy gun fire. The attack was a fail killing 20,000 British troops and wounding 40,000. The mud due from the heavy rain were the main reason tanks were not a deciding factor in WW1. The war stayed at a stand still.

    This was a military alliance between Germany and mexico. Germany told Mexico if they declared was on the U,S they would give them their states back. These include Texas, new mexico, And Arizona. Germany wanted the U,S o deal with mexico instead of helping the allies.

    U,S joins the allies on the fight against Germany on April 6, 1917. 2 million U.S. soldiers fought on battlefields in France. In 1917, the U.S. entered the war. Germany formally surrendered on November 11, 1918, and all nations agreed to stop fighting while the terms of peace were placed.

    Six weeks later after the U,S enters the first world war congress passes the Selective Service Act. This gave the U,S president to draft people into the military. This helped the U,S to improve their military size by nearly half of what they had before. Then the draft had finally happened in the U,S in WW1.

    Russia signs a please treaty with the central powers. This was granting independence to its Polish and Baltic territories, the Ukraine, and Finland. The war for Russia came to a end. The soviet union did get the benefits at the end of the war.

    Forbus Allan i remember the first time i arrived in France i thought of the despair of all the french people. The beautiful city called Paris was reduced to rubble. We were sent asap to the battlefields and i still can hear the two hour artillery barrage i have never felt or heard anything so terrifying in my life. I had a gas mask on but i knew it wouldn't help me like my comrades souls that died from the Germans gas attack.

    Forbus,tells us it is a difficult task to tell us what happened in Belleau Wood but just know it was not pretty. He was apart of the 4th brigade they were supporting the front line with artillery fire. Without the 4th brigade the battle would have been a loss. He remembers every time he fired a shot he would think about whose life he just ended.

    Second Battle of the Marne
    He was a machine gunner during the Germans worst offensive attack. This battle was the turning point of the war and the last German offensive attack. He tells us he remembers pulling the trigger of a machine gun on crowds of enemy troops. But he new he was killing mass number of people and he did not feel bad about it. He has lost many good friends in this war so he enjoys fighting.
  • Battle of Amiens

    Allen tells us about going up that river with 1,000's of dead bodies on the shore and in the river. He could see the disadvantage the Germans had we boomed rush the Germans offensive line within seconds the g|Germans were overruled. he could see Germans in hustles and 100’s of bullets flying at them. There were tanks every where dog fighting going on all over the sky. Artillery shells flying and landing everywhere exploding everywhere.

    He tells us he follows closely in a tank ready for anything. They threw gas Grande in the trenches he tells us seeing the Germans come out of the trench for their lives was very painful for him to watch. He shot at Germans as they were coming out of the trench mowing down 100’s of German soldiers. They had planes dropping bombs on us and are aircraft chasing them down.
  • Armistice Day

    The Armistice Day is when Germany and the allies signed a document to end the war as Germany is the loser. Germany was forced to sign a document called Treaty of Versailles. This document kept Germany from building up their military. They also forced Germany to pay off all of the allies expenses. Which is impossible and eventually they will become broke and WW2 will start because of the Treaty of Versailles.
