First computer program to run on a computer
Researchers Frederic Williams, Tom Kilburn, and Geoff Toothill made the Small-Scale Experimental Machine (SSEM), better known as the Manchester "Baby." The program was built to test a new memory technology made by Williams and Kilburn. The first program, consisting of seventeen instructions and written by Kilburn. This was the first program to ever run on an electronic stored-program computer.

First camera phone invented
Japan's SoftBank introduces the first camera phone, the J-Phone J-SH04. A phone intergrated with a camera that had a maximum resolution of 0.11 megapixels, photos taken on the phone could be shared wirelessly. The J-phone opened the door for phones, the flip phone came out a month later.
