    The Trail of Tears
    The Trail of Tears was the Act of white American settlers forcing the south, southeastern tribes to move west to make more room. Many of the Indians died and impacted them heavily.
  • The Civil War

    The Civil War was a heavliy and deadly dispute between the Union and the Confederates, the heavy dispute was because of slavery, one wanted slavery to be ablolished and the other didn't. This caused the Indians to lose their relationship after the confederates lost against the United States, the indians lost most of their land because of that.

    The Reconstruction Treaties caused amnesty for all crimes committed against the United States prior to the treaties. This included specific provisions of peace and friendship toward the Untied States.

    The Dawes Act authorized the President to break up redervation land, which was held in common by the members of a tribes, into small allotments to be parceled out to individuals. Most over the age of eighteen got land.

    The Oklahoma Land Rush was a run for land by white settlers to claim unassigned lands in Oklahoma. Many men and women were allowed to claim the land as long as they got there first.

    The Indian Reorganization Act
    The Indian Reorganization Act led to major changes to tribal ownership and self-government. This ended allotment of tribal lands, which had broken up reservations and led to serious economic and cultural impacts on the tribal communities.
