A war started by Egypt and Syria against Israel on Yom Kippur during Ramadan. the attack was to regain land lost in the Six-Day War. It was part of the Arab-Israeli conflict. -
Jimmy Carter Becomes President
Carter persued many different types of conflicts, both domestic and international. One of his many accomplishments were the Camp David Accords. As well as the Panama Canal Treaties, SALT II. During the end of his term, the Iranian Hostage Conflict, the 1979 energy crisis and the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan all took place. -

A pipeline built to transport oil from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez, Alaska. It was built after the Arab Oil Embargo caused oil prices to rise and the U.S. was looking for cheaper oil. -

Signed by Egyptian president Anwar El-Sadat and Isaraeli Prime Minister Menachen they begin following 12 days of disclosed negotiations of Camp David. The frameworks for these accords led directly to the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty. -

A war led by the U.S. aginst Iraq's invasion and annexation of kuwwait. Iraq accused Kuwait of stealing oil by slant drilling and set their oil wells on fire. -
Bill Clinton becomes president
He provided financial aid for Israel's anti-terror activities. He also was involved in making peace agreements between Israel and the Palestinians. Helped coordinate a compromise between Israel and Jordan to end their state of war. -
World Trade Center 1993
A bomb was detonated below the North tower which was supposed to send it crashing into the South tower but didn't. The attack was a threat to the U.S. to stop supporting Israel.This bombing killed six people. -
Centrazbat
Centrazbat was a series of excercises designed to improve interactions with Central Asian states by focusing on peacekeeping/humanitarian operations and exercising command, control, and logistics within a multinational framework. Turkey, America, Russian all participated. Central Asian countries trained at Fort Bragg, North Carolina to practice multi-national peacekeeping and humanitarian efforts. -
Embasy Bombing in Kenya
A series of attacks, in which hundreds of people were killed in simulaneous truck bomb explosions at the embassies of the U.S. in 2 east African cities. Linked to the local members of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, Osmama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahil, and their terrorist organization al- Qaeda. -
Embassy bombing in Tanzania
The Egyptian Islamic Jihad bombed the U.S. Embassy in Tanzania for revenge on the U.S. for torturing members of the EIJ that had been arrested. This bombing coincided with the bombing in Kenya. -
ISIS
Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. An Islamic extremist rebel group controlling territory in Syria, Iraq, Libya, and Nigeria. The U.N. held ISIS responsible for human rights abuses and war crimes as well as the crimes of ethnic cleasning. -
U.S.S. Cole
an attack against the U.S. Navy's ship in Yemen. A bomb was detonated and killed 17 sailors. It was the deadliest attack against a U.S. Naval vessel since 1987. -

In response to 9/11 he had the U.S. lead a NATO invasion in Afghanistan begining the global war on terror which consisted of the war in afghanistan and Iraq.He also wanted to return to the peace process in Israel and create a Palestinian state. -

After the attacks on Sep. 11, 2001, the U.S. went to war with Iraq to dismantle al-qaeda and remove the taliban from power. The two still have strained relationships. -
Barack Obama becomes president
Relations with Israel have deteriorated but remain positive. Stated that a two-state solution could be the way to make Israel a Jewish-majority democracy. It would give both the Israelis and Palestinians a state of their own.
