Reconquista
Christian forces, comanded by King Ferdinand V and Queen Isabella I, captured the kingdom of Granada and the Moors lost their last foothold in spain. General Boabdil surrendered to the King and Queen on January 2, 1492. The Christian army forced the Moors to convert to Christianity in 1502. -

The Crusades were a series of wars fought by the Christians to control the Holy Land. Muslims had controlled ths region for centuries. At first Christian Knights captured the land but over time Muslim forces recaotured the outposts. After nearly 200 years of fighting the crusaders failed to win permanent control of the Holy Land. -

The Renaissance increased trade and travel and made Europeans more eager to learn more about the wider world. Many new things were discovered and invented during the Renaissance; such as the printing press, books, art, medicine, astronomy, and chemistry. The Black Plague killed about 1.5 million people. It spread very quickly because of the close living spaces in places like England. Also, the people who handled the dead bodies that carried the plague did not protect themselves well enough. Nearly all victims died within 3 days. Peasants who did not catch the Black Plague often thought that there was something speacail about them so they then began to work their way up the socail ladder and improve their lives. -

Fall of Constantinople
The seige of Constantinople, the capital of Byzantine Empire, was one off the most fortified cities in world. The attackers, The Ottoman Turks, had 100,000 and 150,000 men while the defenders only had 10,000 men. After bombarding them with cannons, the Turks released waves of men on a early May morning. The Fall of the Roman Empire
A reason that the Roman Empire fell was because an invading army, the Visigoths, reached the outskirts of Rome and easily breached the wall. They then burned and pillaged through the city for three days until they reached the center. Rome could not fend off the army, and eventually Rome fell to the hands of the Visigoths.
