    Indian Removal Act
    The Indian Removal Act, was an act on which President Andrew Jackson had the Native Americans moved off of their land and sent westward into Oklahoma.
  • Trail of Tears

    Trail of Tears
    The Trail of Tears was a long and strenuous route of over 5,000 miles on which Native Americans had to take when forced off of their homelands and into Oklahoma territory. It was named the Trail of Tears due to the pain and suffering of many Native Americans in these inhuman conditions.
  • Civil War

    Civil War
    The Civil War was started due to major differences between the northern and southern states of the US of the time- like slavery, or rural and urban likeness. Eventually the south wanted to secede from the 'Union' and they became Confederates- this war went on for four years, with the Native siding with the Confederates, which will result in very inhuman consequences for them once the Union wins.
  • Reconstruction Treaties

    Reconstruction Treaties
    The Reconstruction treaties were treaties the Natives had to sign. Some were to abolish slavery within their tribes, create two railroads across the territory, give up more of the land, and loss of sovereignty.
  • Dawes Act

    Dawes Act
    The Dawes Act was an act where the US Government divided up Native American land, to further assimilate them, and set up the very 'American' idea of everybody owning their own land, and forced the Natives to no longer share their land among each other.
  • Oklahoma Land Rush

    Oklahoma Land Rush
    The Oklahoma Land Rush allowed many Americans to approach into Native land to settle on. This created the first major settlement in this territory, since you could claim a lot of land for extremely cheap.
  • Indian Reorganization Act

    Indian Reorganization Act
    The Indian Reorganization Act was after everything the United States had forced them to endure, it merely gave them a piece of what they once had, like their own government, and was a step towards the right direction, but not nearly enough to forgive such huge things like cultural genocide.
