First Mexican Empire
This happened when Iturbide was crown as first emperor of Mexico. Under his ruling Mexico became a monarchy. It was a big event because it meant that the conservatives were under power. Iturbide was authoritarian. -
France and Prussia
Signed the second treat in which they ceded half of the territory to Russia and French states.
Conservatives were not happy about this because they were giving their territories. -
Independence Movement
In the 15 of September of 1800 the liberals made "El grito". This was the beginning of the Mexican Independence movement against the Spanish kingdom. It was movement that helped Mexico to become Liberal.
It was a big political event because it meant that liberal rights were going to be protected with the use of nationalism. -
Political Constitution
Constitution of Grand Duchy of Saxe- Weimar-Eisenach was promulgated.
Socialists were really happy about this constitution as Eisenach provided them the things and rights they wanted. -
Opposing Document
Göttiengen Seven published a document opposing the Hanoverian King's decision to abrogate his country´s 1833 constitution. This was a great conservative event because they were opposing to new ideas. -
"Guerra de los pasteles"
France attacked Mexico in the called " Guerra de los pasteles"Mexico signed the peace by paying 600,000 Mexican Empire.
Nationalism took great part in the war as we had to fight united. -
Economy System
The economist Friedrich List published his National System of Political Economy.
This was a huge nationalism event as List was the biggest nationalist. -
Texas
US Invaded Mexico and we lost Texas an portion of California.
It was something that neither liberals or conservtives liked because it was losing territory(not conserving) and righs. -
Juarez attacks
Benito Juarez sought to attack foreign capital to finance Mexico´s economy.
Juarez (liberal) wanted to use nationalism for them to be able to get financial economy and reform. -
Ley Lerdo
Ley Lerdo is proclaimed and it said that all the land that was not used must be sold.
This is a conservative event as the laws looked to conserve their land rights -
1st Mexican Republic
This was the first time mexicans could choose their representatives in the government. Guadalupe Victoria became the first president of Mexico,under his ruling Mexico became a federal country.
Liberals were ruling during this period so this was a huge liberalism period. -
French Attack
Juarez stops paying the dept to France, therefore France attacked Mexico.
This is a nationalism event,as France used it to fight against Mexico and liberals( as we were under Juarez rulement). -
Cinco de Mayo
Battle of Puebla and Maximilian´s Empire.
Liberals were not happy about it because conservatism were ruling. -
War
Auto División War. Prussia declares this war.
This was a crucial event for nationalim because people needed to fight for what they believed. -
Seeds of Economy
The seeds of economic modernization were laid under the restored republic.
This was reformative, therefore many liberals were happy because of the modernization. -
German Confederation Renamed
Reichstang of North German Confederation renamed the North to German Empire.
This was bad for liberalism as liberals didn´t liked the idea of an empire. -
Economy
Government played important role in industrialization of the German Empire founded by Otto Von Bismarck
Liberals were not happy becase of the empire. Conservatism ruled. Socialism appeared later. -
Economy
Germany joined the League of the Three Emperors, a conservative alliance with Russia and Austria-Hungary aimed at preserving those nations' interests in Eastern Europe. Nationalism was a great part for this event as much as conservatism, they wanted to preserve and they use natuonalism to gain that. It was authoritarian as it was an empire and liberals weren't happy. -
Treaty
Congress of Berlin signed a treaty granting independence to former Ottoman territories.
Conservatives were not happy about the grating of independence for the other territories.
