Last gentlemanly decade (1940-1949)
At this time it was considered a diss to dress flashy. All of the money of fashion needed to be used for military uniforms. as the war came to an end men began to express themselves with pattern and color. -
"Head of the Household" (1950-1959)
Men began dressing a lot more simple at these times. All men looked alike because they wanted to look as much like good Americans as possible after the war. Ties became slimmer, shirt collars were less pronounced, and the brims of hats were considerably more narrow.
