Men Fashion was not as revolutionary as it was for women, but there was a lot of change. Ties, belts, and lapels got wider. Collars got longer and wider, and a modified version of the bell bottom called “flared” became popular. The conservative men’s suit took on some geometric design along with the flare in the pants leg and wider. -
#2 The 1970's
During the 1970's The movie “Easy Rider” came out, and highlighted the self-expression of the time. Men adopted the film's styles such as tight pants, long side burns, hair, and biker boots. Actor John Travolta epitomized the disco king in the movie, and men combed their hair back and wore white disco suits. The 1970's were a time of fashion exploration and experimentation. Many of the styles that became popular then, like the ubiquitous jeans and tee shirt.period of recession, and equal rights. -
#3 The 1980's
During the 1980's, shirt, loose shirts, bomber jackets, leather jackets, windbreakers, and sweaters where popular. When it came to footwear, white sneakers were the ultimate casual shoe. Hip-hop was another popular fashion trend in the 80's by music stars and rappers, such as Run-D.M.C, Beast Boys, and N.W.A. The style was well known for its over sized silhouettes. Along with baggy clothes, hip-hop fashion included, sneakers, athletic caps, statement accessories, like chunky gold chains. -
#4 The 1990's
During the 1990's, Hip-hop style entered the mainstream in the ’90s, and with it came snap back hats. The look, which began with rappers, soon seemed to be worn by men all over the world. Today, these flat-brimmed caps, which typically feature logos, can still look cool. Remember to wear them forwards or backwards instead of to the side.Overalls were huge in the ’90s, especially when worn with one strap hanging down. In fact, everyone from Will Smith to the members of NSYNC rocked this look. -
