    1950s Look
    During the 1950s, Europe stopped making producing fashion due to the war. Because of this, American designers were given a chance to express their own designs and style. Trousers were the jeans of the 1950s. A few fashion inspirations at this time are Elvis Presley and James Dean. "The Greaser" was a very popular type of style during this time, which included white t-shirts and leather jackets. Sleek tailored suits, sometimes brightly colored, was also very common.

    During the 1960s, "The Conservatives" and "The Ivys" were popular looks. Sports coats, casual polo shirts, and patterned trousers and blazers were often worn. Lime green was a popular color in the mid-60s.

    1970's fashion thrived off of individuality. Bell bottoms were in popularized by hippies, and glitter and satin were introduced through disco styles and glam rock.

    During the 1980s, there was a variety of fashion-forward trends, including hip-hop, preppy, workout, rock, and punk styles. Baggy and loose jeans were dominating in the jean department. Popular influences were the Beastie Boys and Michael Jackson. Popular brands were Guess and Calvin Klein.

    Flannel, denim, bandanas, snapbacks, leather jackets, overalls, cargo pants, and combat boots are few of the popular wardrobe pieces of the 1990s. 90's grunge fashion was a big influence due to bands like Nirvana and other innovative pop culture.

    Men's style was based off of the concept of "bad reputation". Rapper brands, sweatbands, streaky hair highlights, denim on denim, popped collars, and ed-hardy are a few trends.
