    In the 1850's were basically a necessity in clothing with more of the top hat look or bowlers.

  • 1860's Hats

    During this time top hats were still being worn, but the popular one became the straw boater hats.

    During this period the hats from the other two decades were still being worn. Like top hats and boater hats.

  • 1880's Hats

    1880's Hats
    During this period top hats were not phased out but the Stetson hat started to become very popular. Many see it as a sort of cowboy hat.

    In this period there were a variety of hats. With everything introduced being still worn. Although men started wearing soft cap hats and slouch caps.

  • 1900's Hats

    1900's Hats
    While older hats were still in style, they were beginning to be changed some and become more casual. Other hats began to get introduced such as the straw boater hat and stay popular for awhile.
