My name is Azul
Hi my name is Azul, I am a 62ft. humpback whale, I live in the Atlantic Ocean. I am a 1 year old whale and am the biggest of my pod. Whales usually grow to about 60 feet which means I am an overachiever. Me and my friend, Dulce met in the spring of my second year of life and we will mate in the on coming spring. From there we will spend the rest of our lives swimming up the West coast together. -
Meeting Dad
One day as the pod was swimming past California, we saw our fathers coming back from their long journey up the coast to see where the krill were. Now they are back to stay. Me and my friends were very excited to see them! We swam as fast as we could to meet them and I could tell right away my dad was more than proud of my size. -
Sea Turtles
Sea turtles are very playful even though we are three times their size. I enjoyed playing with them. -
Shark Attack
Dad jumped in and used his tail to throw the shark miles in the air to land with a gigantic slash and the shark soon knew he was no match for my heroic dad. I had never been so proud or so impressed by my father. -
The Great Whale
The Great Whale began to tell me the stories of the whales' history and all of the enemies whales have and who our allies are. It was interesting that our greatest enemy is the human, with their gigantic ships and spears that would us in harpoon us in our backs. -
The Storm
We were all amazed at what was happening during the storm. The waters were really moving from the wind. We all ended up jumping and splashing and playing in the rain. -
Abundant Krill
When we got closer to shore the krill were countless and so thick if you swam under the krill you couldn't see the sun light. When we were all feasting we ran into a pod of sperm whales who were also enjoying the abundant krill. -
We reach the Alaskan waters
Whales spend there entire lives swimming up the west coast just to get to the enormous and abundant schools of krill. So for the next few months our pod will stay right here and fill up on krill and then travel back to the warm waters to mate and have cafes for our own.
