Battle of Tours
The battle was fought to help keep Europe a Christian region. Charles Martel led the Franks against the Muslims and defeated the Muslims at the Battle of Tours. By defeating the Muslims this stopped Muslim advance and and Christianity remained Europe’s major religion. -

Spanish inquisition tortured people who did heresy and so Muslims went somewhere else. -
Charlemagne/Holy Roman Empire
He became the new emperor to Roman Empire and he moved the capital of Roman Empire to Aachen, Charles went to the aid of the pope when the Lombards tried to regain their territory and he went to the aid of the pope when the Lombards tried to regain their territoy and so he got crowned king of Rome or a holy roman emperor. He invaded Germany and defeated the Saxons living there and then invaded Spain and gained control of the northeastern corner from the Muslims.
