The beginning of the Medieval Times
Feudalism was the dominant social system of medieval times. It was first introduced by William the Conqueror. It says that the king is the one who owns the kingdom. Within that, William gave to himself a forth of the kingdom, to the church, and his barons. The barons supplied him with knights. The knights pledged allegiance to him. Thats how the knighthoo was introduced to Englan. -

Barons Take Side; Henry l, son of William the Conqueror, passes away
After the tragic death of William, there were power struggles and they began to rise between the barons. The struggles became more massive when Henry l, the son of William died. The barons ultimalely took sides between Matilada, Henry l's daugher and Stephen who was the nephew. -
1154
The Anarchy Ends; Henry ll takes the throne
So, after all the fighting was done Matilda's son, Henry ll, took the throne. Henry a number of things such as instituted royal courts, established a system of juries along with reforming the judicial system. -
1215
The Magna Carta is signed
Henry ll the second had a son named Richard the Lionhearted. Richard spent his 10 years of reign fighting in the Crusades (a series of religious wars sanctioned by the Latin Church in the medieval period) His brother John, ruled over england in his absence. After his brother's death he eventually took his place on the throne. The royal court went bankrupt and King john was forces to sign the Magna Carta. The Magna Carta limited royal authority and was a step toward democracy. -

Edward l, Model Parliament is Established
Henry the third set up an abvisory council of barons. They were called the parliament and they met up on the regular. Henry lll's sucessor, Edward l's established the model parliament in 1295. Once established it was set to include the commoners of the concil, or parliament. -

The Hundred Year War
Well during Edward the lll reign, a war between they're very own England and France brokeout. This war was fought on and off for a little over a century. During the war, England suffered the most devastating pandemics in human history, known as the Black Death. It killed 75 to 200 million people, 1/3 of its population/ -

Richard ii
Yet the seeming moderation of Richard’s rule was matched by a strong emphasis on the reassertion of royal authority. Richard was determined never again to suffer a humiliation of the kind inflicted upon him by the Appellants. Accordingly, in the 1390s he developed a program to strengthen the material foundations of his rule. In a novel initiative he built up a large baronial-style affinity, whose members wore the king’s badge of the white hart. -

The war comes to an end
The fighting between England and France ended. At the end of it all, England end up losing most of its french possessions and it was on the edge of another conflict. There were two families that were rivals. It was the House of york and the House of Lancaster. The two began to fight over the throne. The fight was called the War of Roses because each of the houses used a rose as its symbol -

The medieval period ends
The fighting in the War of Roses came to an end when Lancastrian Henry Tudor killed Yorkist king Richard lll and took the throne as Henry Vll. That event marked the end of the medieval times.
