    The Black Death started in Europe when a ship docked at Sicilian port of Messina. The greeters went up to the ship and in shocked found most of the sailors dead. The ones that were not dead they were very ill. They were covered in this black oozed blood and pus and that's how it got its name. Over the next five years it killed over twenty million people in Europe.
