    the rock and roll genre of music became huge in the 50s. It was initially frowned upon by most older generations due to supposedly inciting violence in teens and children. Rock and roll are the bases of most modern music genres ie: Pop, Country, Rap etc.

    In the 60s a lot of different things were happening. First of all the English Invasion started which was when a bunch of rock bands from the UK came to America these include the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. The take-off of colour tv which was initiated the decade prior became a huge part of media’s identity in the 60s with most of the Vietnam war

    the 70s brought the invention of the mainstream Computer which were made by IBM and Apple. Arcade games were starting to become a thing at the same time.

    cable news channels like CNN became more popular and the hit channel MTV debuted. Music genres like hip-hop were the centre of attention. Boom boxes became the biggest way of music consumption. And computers were becoming more complex and popular for big businesses.

    1995 brought the first consumer GUI-based operating system known as Windows 95. Windows 95 was a huge innovation that allowed the average person to use a computer. This was also when smaller music devices like the Walkmen started to gain popularity, leading to some modern mega-corporations. Video games also took a huge leap in the late 90s becoming 3D on consoles like the N64, Sega Dreamcast, and PS

    The computer industry was booming the creation of windows XP made huge boom and made PCs a lot more usable and lead to microsofts huge success in later years. Apple is here with the Ipod. despite a lot of people not realizing this the Ipod is the device that saved Apple from death. Oh yea also in 2007 Apple released THE IPHONE.

With the xbox, ds, Wii, 360, PS 2/3 and even gave birth so some of the most influential games of all time ie: GTA:SA, Wii Sports, Team Fortress 2, Half-Life 2, Portal, Call of Duty, Counter-strike and so many more
