    Puritans started to travel to the New World. Men, women, and children traveled on the Mayflower. Once they got there, they established the Plymouth Colony. This was the first colony in New England. The started of the Great Puritan Migration.

    The original New England Company name changed to the Massachusetts Bay Company. They obligated a charter from King Charles I to trade in New England. They're charter however did not say couldn't move, so they moved to New England.

    The Puritan Migration reached its height. Over 20 thousand leaving England to practice their faith without fear. They also left for the economic opportunities in the New World.

    April 1630
    John Winthrop led the company and left England. Then arrived in New England in June where they settled in Present Day Boston. This Massachusetts Bay Colony became the largest colony in New England.

    1630's
    Puritans began to flock to New England. After 1633, King Charles appointed William Laud as Archbishop of Canterbury and began rooting out nonconformity in the church.
  • 1640s

    The Great Puritan Migration ended in the 1640's due to they believe desesis and climate change.
