    Suez Crisis
    On july 26th 1956, that was the start of when the egyptian president nationalized the Suez Canal. The Suez was provoked by an American and British decision to not finance Egypt’s construction of the Aswan high dam as they had promised. Nasser caused the nationalism of Arabic and Egypt, Israel did not win freedom to use the canal. British and France lost their influence in the middle east.

Demanded themselves from armed attacks. The war allies countries withdrew. After war remained strong but political problems evolved.

    In July,1945 New Weapon (the atomic bomb)the waas introduced to be used on japan, atomic bomb was dropped on hiroshima/nagasaki. Japan rejected U.S demand surrender. It killed many people that were in hiroshima and Nagasaki when the bomb was dropped.

    On June 25,1950 to July 1953 Japan controlled korea until the end of WWII 1939-45. United Nations wanted to put the countries back together quickly. After Japan lost the wars Soviet Union took over in the north while the United States took over in the south.Killed about 1,300,000 koreans, 1,000,000 chinese, 500,000 North Koreans, 37,000 Americans.

    The Vietnam war began in 1954 after the country of Vietnam was split into two parts, North Vietnam and South Vietnam. Japan seized the colony in 1940 and held it until 1945. A communist named HO Chi Minh was the vietnamese president. The vietnam war had a huge cost in human lives. More than 1.3 million vietnamese soldiers and about 58,000 U.S troops were killed. More than 2 million civilians (people not fighting in the war) died as well.

    On October 4,1957 The Soviet Union launched Sputnik. Sputnik was the first satellite launched into space. The Soviet launched Sputnik to demonstrate their technological superiority to the U.S. Sputnik started an intense arms and space race between Russia + America.

    In a TV address on october 22,1962 , president john kennedy (1917-63) notified Americans about the presence of the missiles, explained his decision to enact a naval blockade around cuba and made it clear the U.S. was prepared to use military force if necessary to neutralize this perceived threat to national security. For the american officials, the urgency of the situation stemmed from the fact that the nuclear armed cuban missiles were being installed so close to the U.S. mainland.
