-Their main tasks were to make sure that the King and Parliament of England must be made to understand why the colonies were upset. -The people of the congress also wanted to do everything possible to communicate what they thought was important to the population of America, and to the rest of the world. - These ideas would be used to write the constitution. -

*Englands way of trying to get back at the people in the Boston Tea Party

First Shots fired at Lexington\Concord
The Battles of Lexington and Concord signaled the start of the American Revolutionary war on April 19, 1775 because:
* The British army came to Lexington and the first shot of the war was fired.
* The Americans fled from the British in Lexington and went to Concord.
* The Americans beat the British at Concord which helped them know they could break away from England. -
Second Continental Congress
The Second Continental Congress was:
* A convention of people from the Thirteen Colonies
* It continued the congress that started meeting in the summer of 1775
* They continued talking about indepence
* They created the Declaration of Independence which helped make the Constitution. -
