Carl Kemp and Judy Henderson gave birth to a boy on September 23, 1984. Matthew Kemp was Brought home to Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Kemp attended Midwest City High School in Oklahoma. He was a standout in basketball and baseball player.

Kemp was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 6th round of the 2003 MLB Draft. Afterwards, he signed with the team on June 5, 2003, for a $130,000 signing bonus.

Earninga starting positon in 2008 in the majors. Many obstacles came upon Kemp which was injuries. Til this day Kemp struggles to get back to himself on the field.

Kemp will make $12 million in the first year of the contract. Two million of that will comes as signing bonus paid in April 2012. Another $2 million of his $10 million base salary until April of 2013.He will make $20 million in 2013, $21 million in 2014 and 2015 and $21.5 million a year in the following four seasons, through 2019.
