Surveillance video reviewed by RBPD
Red Bluff Police Dept. reviews surveillance video from Red Bluff High School. The video showed a man wearing red shorts and a sweatshirt walking east on Douglass Rd. and turning south onto the Red Bluff High School campus. About a minute and a half later, Marysa is seen walking the same route. -

High School Students Interviewed
Officers with RBPD interviewed three Red Bluff High School students who said at 11:10 a.m.on Feb. 26, they saw Marysa Nichols and an unknown man walking westbound on the west side of the creek, from the Red Bluff High School and Bidwell Elementary School crossing. The man was walking in front and Marysa was three feet behind him. One of the students described the man as 30-40 years old, 5’ 10” to 6’ tall, stocky build, wearing red shorts, a dark colored sweatshirt and a tattoo on his calf. -
PG&E witness interviewed
Investigators contacted a PG&E employee who was working in the area around 11 a.m. on the day Marysa Nichols went missing and told police he believed he saw a male wearing red cut off sweats and white socks with a red goatee and a shaved or bald head. Laine was then asked to point out the subject out in a lineup and did not point out Quentin Bealer. -
Marysa's iPod missing
Investigators interviewed Marysa’s parents and learned that Marysa had an iPod on her the last time she was seen but did not have it when she was found. -
Discrepencies with Bealer's story
Investigators asked Bealer about his route when he was near Red Bluff High School. Bealer told the investigators he passed More 4 Less gas station on Walnut St. before arriving at Circle K between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. However, when investigators checked surveillance from the gas station across the street, Bealer was not on the tapes until 4 p.m. that day. -
Quentin Bealer turns himself in
On Mar. 2, Investigators said Quentin Bealer walked into the Red Bluff police station and told them he was the man captured on the surveillance video. Quentin told investigators that on the day Marysa went missing, he had cut across the creek from Dumosa Dr. to Walnut St. Quentin said he then crossed Walnut St. and went to Circle K. He denied any involvement with Marysa’s death and told the investigators that his red shorts were at his parents’ house. -
Search warrant and affidavit released
New details regarding Marysa Nichols' death were released on an affidavit and returned search warrant which was made public and posted by the <i>Record Searchlight</i>. The documents mentioned the state of Nichols' body. Link
