When Mary was eighteen, she moved to Penola, South Australia to be a governess for her aunt and uncles children. There she met Father Julian Tenison Woods. -
Father Woods founded the SOSJ (Sisters of Saint Josephs of the sacred heart)
Father Woods and Mary felt bad for the poor and uneducated children so they started the SOSJ's to teach at Mary's school's -

Mary and the SOSJ arrived in QLD to build more school's for the uneducated poor children. -
Josephites were teaching at St Mary’s School in South Brisbane
Many Josehites came to teach at St Mary's School in South Brisbane. -
