The nation of France sold 828,000 square miles of land to the United States. It streached from the Missisipi River to the beggining of the Rocky Mountains. This would be economic because it was a big purchase for land. Each acre was about less than 5 cents and in total it was $15 million. -
Missouri Compromise
This was an agreemnet of anti- slavery and pro-slavery that the congress made. It was balanced of the number of states that were "slaves states" and "free states". This would be political because it went to congress for discussion but also because of this it lead to the Civil War. -
Nullification Crisis
It was a crisis that trigered the civil war 30 years later. Federal government attempted to collect those tariff duties. It is Political but also economic since it did involved money but it was a big Government issue. -
Cherokee Indian Removal
The U.S military removed 15,000 indians from their land and had to relocate. Which resulted in the death of an estimated 4000 Cherokee. -
Mexican American War
It was a long, bloody, conflict that fought for foreign soil. Mexico lost half of its territory since they Americans were more prepared. It is political, it both countries fought for terriotory that resulted in a war.
