When Mark was 12 he used Atari BASIC to create a messaging program he named "Zucknet." His father used the program in his dental office, so that the receptionist could inform him of a new patient without yelling across the room. The family also used Zucknet to communicate within the house. -

While still in high school, Mark Zuckerburg created an early version of the music software Pandora, which he called Synapse. Several big named companies such as Microsoft wanted to buy the software but Mark declined the offers. -
Graduated
In 2002 Mark graduated Phillips Exeter Academy (private school). Mark then joined Harvard University in autumn on a psychology and computer science course. -
Launches Facemash
Facemash was a web programme enabling Harvard students to compare images of same-gender students and rate the more attractive which was created by him his sophmore year. This program became a hit for the students but it made Mark be on the verge of being kicked out of Harvard. -
The Facebook
Mark and his friends created a social network in their dormroom called The Facebook. This program let people create their own profiles and upload pictures. -
Full Time Facebook
Mark dropped out of Harvard after his second year attending to put in all of his time to Facebook. He moved the company to Palo Alto, California. By the end of 2004, Facebook had reached 1 million users. -
Accel investment
In 2005, Zuckerberg's enterprise received a $12.7 million investment from the venture capital firm Accel Partners. -
Zuckerburg the thief?
The creators of Harvard Connection claimed that Zuckerberg stole their idea. Zuckerburg did apoligize to everyone about this situation. -
Person of the year
Time magazine named Zuckerburg Person of the Year in 2010.
