Mark Zuckerberg had an interest of computers at an early age. At the age of 12, he created "Zucknet", a messaging program created on ATARI basic (The computer in the picture) . His father used this program to help him as a dentist at work. He continued to make computer games with his friends in his free time. -
Mark attends Phillips Exeter Academy.
As a junior in highschool, Mark Zuckerberg attended Phillips Exeter Academy where he won tons of prizes in the subjects of math, astronomy, and physics. -
Synapse is created.
While at Phillips Exeter Academy, Zuckerberg created a pandora-like software called Synapse. He became known as the go-to software developer. -
Zuckerberg attends Harvard.
Within months of attending Harvard, Zuckerberg was already known as "a programming prodigy". He studied pyschology and computer science and later joined Alpha Epsilon Pi. It was here at Harvard where Zuckerberg created many of his pre-social networking websites. -
Facebook is launched.
Zuckerberg and his friends created a site that allowed people to create their own profiles, upload photos, and communnicate with people all around the world. This soon to be social networking phenomenon was called "The Facebook". -
Zuckerberg drops out of Harvard.
In June 2004, Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard in order to devote himself to Harvard full time. -
"The Facebook" to "Facebook"
The world changing website, "The Facebook", is officially changed to "Facebook". At this point, the website is worth about $200,000. -
Zuckerberg is sued.
The creators of Harvard Connection claim Zuckerberg stole their idea. After the lawsuit, Zuckerberg paid a fine of $65 million. -
Facebook hits 175 million users.
After only 5 years, Facebook already has over 175 million users, increasing more and more each year. -
"Like" button invented.
In February 2009, the like button is added to Facebook allowing people to "like" statuses and pictures. This causes a huge spark in Facebook users. -
"Accidental Billionaires"
Ben Mezrich wrote a book about all the accidental billionaires, primarily focusing on Mark Zuckerberg. Mezrich critically retold the one sided story of the founding of Facebook. -
"The Social Network"
The "Accidental Billionaires" eventually led to the movie called "The Social Network". It received 8 academy award nominations. Zuckerberg was greatly offended by the way in which he was portrayed. -

Mark Zuckerberg announces his $100 million donation to the Newark, N.J. public school system. -
Person of the Year
Mark Zuckerberg was named Time's Person of the Year in 2010.

Along with person of the yar, in 2010, Zuckerberg was also ranked number 35 on Forbe's 400 Richest People in America. At this point, his net worth was at $6.9 billion. -
Zuckerberg meets Obama
Mark Zuckerberg was invited to a dinner with Obama and many other entrrepreneurs to discuss spending and technology exports.
