After Ninoy Aquino's Death, millions of people started protesting against the Marcos Government. This new form of protest was joined by the majority of the people in Manila. -
Marcos calls for snap elections
During an interview broadcasted for America, Marcos was asked if he was still the people's choice of leader, because from what was being observed by then, all the rallies and uprisings did not sound like people wanted Marcos. Because of this, Marcos immediately called for an election, giving candidates 60 days to campaign. -

Enrile and Ramos defect from Marcos's side and join Cory Aquino and the people in the rise against Marcos. They barricade themselves inside Camp Crame. Jaime Cardinal Sin sent out a message telling the people to help the defectors if they wished. The people immediately respond and gather in EDSA in front of Camp Crame. this event is what lead Marcos to flee from the Philippines. -

Marcos finally decides to flee the Philippines. The US gives him one last helping hand and ensures that the family leaves the country safely, sending them to Hawaii.
