The Great Leap Forward
This plan was designed to push China ahead of America in terms of economy. There would be an increase in agriculture, and manufacturing. However, the workers were highly unqualified and not much progress was made. Also, a result of this "Great Leap" a large famine spread and nearly 10 million people died because of it. -
The Cultural Revolution
The Cultural Revolution lasted from 1966-1976. The Cultural Revolution threatened the heart of Chinese culture. Mao Zedong launched this revolution to protect the Chinese government from capitalist takeover. -
Death
Mao Ze Dong died in 1976 causing an end to the Cultural Revolution.
