Chinese Nationalists move Capital to Taiwan
As the Chinese Nationalist Leaderss continually were losing success with the Communist forces of Mao Zedong, they left for the island of Taiwan where they insituted their capital. Seventeen Point Agreement with Tibet
This was an agreement between the delegates of the 14th Dalai Lama and the People's Republic of China for the peaceful liberation of Tibet. Nixon visits China
President Nixon traveled to Beijing, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. Nixon had a meeting with Chairman Mao and Prime Minister Zhou Enlai shortly after his arrival to China. As a result of his visit, the prime minister pushed for early relief in Vietnam. Gang of Four arrested
The leader of the group was Mao Zedong's fourth wife, Jiang Quing. The other three people of the group were Zhang Chunqiao, Yao Wenyuan, and Wang Hongwen. It was a policy instituted in China to help stop the ever-growing over populism of China. It limited families to one child, and heavily fined families who conceived more than one. Building of the Three Gorges Dam
It is a hydro-electric dam located in the Yangtze River by the town of Sandouping. It's the world's largest power station. The construction of the dam officially ended on July 4, 2012, and the dam was ready to be in use at that point.
