Andrew Jackson wanted the Indian's land, and he decided to give them two years to move to Oklahoma, where there was a reservation. they did not, and so came the trail of tears, where 15,000 Indians went to the reservation, but 4,000 died on the way. -

the battle of Alamo was when a very small amount of texans fought against a huge Mexican army, and won. the texans then forced the Mexicans to sign a treaty, saying that they could colonize there and that the land was theirs. Mexico signed the treaty, but did not pay attention to that. -

The US expanded out west because they wanted to spread Christianity, get the natural recourses, have trade with the Chinese and Indians, have farms to grow produce, and expand their land. they did this all by traveling on a path known as the Oregon Trail, which was very difficult and treacherous. -
