    Brigham Young
    Brigham Young was born on June 1 of 1801. When his mom died in 1856 he left his house to start his career in carpentry and painting. Whenever this all was going on he was a member the the Mormons church and he got to baptized a child. Young was the that got to lead everyone everywhere he had the power to move the Mormons wherever as long as know body owned the place. Young lead the Mormons to The Great Salt Lake. When he had first saw Utah he knew right then and there that was the place.
  • Joseph Smith

    Joseph Smith
    Joseph was the one that founded the Mormonism, and he thought it would be a good idea to make a Mormons Bank. So, then when he first started to design and make the bank it just went downhill from there, and that bank failed. When that bank failed Joseph left Kirkland to go to Missouri. Then, in 1823 Moroni visited him and said that he was destined to become a modern prophet from God. The picture below is a painting of Joseph Smith the founder of Mormonism.

    Andrew Jackson
    Andrew Jackson became a lawyer in 1812. When the war between Britain and United States broke loose, and when it was finished Andrew Jackson was known as the hero. Then after that was all over he ran for president against John Adams, and he lost. Then four years later he came back and got his revenge on John Adams. Then slavery was abolished in the western expansion. Then he later founded the Bank of America. This is an image of his face on a current dollar bill.

    Manifest Destiny is when the Natives was getting pushed out of there own land by the Americans to the west. many of them were fighting over there land, because they didn't want to give it up. The reasoning for the Americans to try to push out the Natives was so they could expand there American culture. During this process of trying to remove the Natives from there own land, the Americans were in war with Mexico. This picture is showing the natives getting moved out of there land.
  • The Alamo

    The Alamo
    The alamo was where Mexican army and the Texans were fighting over the Alamo. When the Mexican army showed up they had many different kinds of offense and defense. When the day started to turn night they would do a song and they would just fire a cannon at the Alamo'a walls. Some of the ammunition was explosive and the other was just completely solid. In the middle of all this they had a little war that the Mexicans had started to see how armored the Texans were. They spent 13 days in the Alamo.

    Before the Trail of tears came there was 125,000 Native Americans that lived in the southern states, After the decade was over there was very little people left in the south. Then the White Americans started to move in and they wanted to grow Cotton on the Indians land. Then, the federal government decided to make the Indians leave there homeland and walk thousands of miles across the Mississippi River. This picture is showing how the people got to there destination.
  • Donner party

    Donner party
    The Donner party was ran by two brothers by the name of Jacob, and George donner. Them and there people were on therequest way to California and they thought that they found a shorter route, so then they tried the route and they had ran into some difficulties. When they had arrived to the Sierra Nevada Mountains they were trapped by heavy snow fall. When they were trapped up there they had a lot of cannibalism to try to survive the winter. When the group before went only half of them made it.
  • Mormans

    Mormans
    The Mormans had established a church, and it was officially the church of Jesus Christ and the latter day saints. The Mormans Have traveled lots of miles and had went to the Utah Valley's of the Great Salt Lake. Most of the Mormon party had reached the Great Salt Lake by July 22, 1847, but then Brigham Young got sick and had to wait 2 more days before he could have arrived. Right when he started viewing the land he had decided that it was the knew land for the latter day saints.
  • Gold Rush

    Gold Rush
    The Gold Rush was when the first gold nugget was found in the Sacramento Valley, California. After they found the first piece of gold there were many people that were traveling a crossed the sea to San Francisco, and surrounding places to try to find some gold. When the Gold wasn't a thing yet there were only 1,000 people in that area, but then people started moving over in that area everywhere and when it was all said and done there were 100,000 people.
