Meets Martin Luther King, Jr. for the first and only time. Breaks away from the Nation of Islam and forms the Muslim Mosque, Inc. He travels to Makkah and Malcolm re named himself Malik El-Shabazz. When he returned to the U.S he formed the organization for Afro-American Unity. -

Malcolm X house was fire bombed in the morning. -
Death
Seven day after his house is fire bombed Malcolm was delivering a speech about the Orgainization of Afro-America at Audubon Ballroom. Three men, identified as Black Muslims, shot Malcolm a total of fifteen time in close range. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Vanderbilt Clinic, Columbia Presbyterian Hospital -
