The contestable nature of Ned Kelly’s legacy
Stringbark Creek is a small creek in wombat Ranges, Victoria, Australia. It's the famous place where the three policemen were killed. There were the policemen's names craved into a memorial for them. The memorial had a small copy of Ned Kelly's helmet attached to it. -
The Boxer Rebellion
The Boxer Rebellion was an uprising against the foreigners that occurred in China around about the 1900s. It begun by peasants but eventually supported by the Government. A Chinese secret society known as the Boxer went on a violent campaign to drive all of the foreigners from China. Several countries sent their troops to try and stop the dangerous attacks. -
The Battle of Beersheba
The Battle of Beersheba took place in the late 1917's as part of the wider British offensive collectively known as the third Battle of Gaza. The capture of Beersheba enabled British Empire forces to break the ottoman line near Gaza on the first of November and advanced into Palestine.
