Soviet troops liberate Auschwitz
The Soviet army entered Auschwitz and liberated more than 7,000 remaining prisoners, who were mostly sick and dying. It is estimated that at at least 1.3 million people were sent to Auschwitz between 1940 and 1945, out of that, at least 1.1 million were murdered. -
