Lincoln Elected
Abraham Lincoln was elected when South Carolina secedes. He was trying to enforce taxes on them and they didn’t like it. The south didn’t like to Lincoln so if he was elected they were threatening to secede. They were afraid if Lincoln got elected it was going to lead to death. -
South Carolina Secedes
South Carolina removed themselves from the federal union on December 20, 1860. After the election of 1860 South Carolina seceded because there was tensions, slavery rights, and taxes. John C. Calhoun was the one who led South Carolina to treason. South Carolina threatened to leave if they were being forced to taxes. -
Civil War begins
The civil war begin on April 12, 1861 and ended in April 9, 1865. It started with the Confederacy shot at Fort Sumter, in South Carolina. They were shooting at each other for one night and two days. The Union Forces were helping the Confederacy shooting at Fort Sumter. -
First Battle of Bull Run
The first battle of Bull Run began on July 21, 1861. Confederate Robert E. Lee didn’t want to army forces to join together so it what a prevention. The battle went on for a awhile because both armies were bad at fighting. The Battle of Bull Run was to stop or block the union forces from controlling the confederate capital. It was also to protect the railroads. -

The battle started in March 9, 1862. The confederate tried to break the union from getting to the Southern parts. John Marston John Worden Led the battle of Ironclad. They used the ships Monitor and Merrimac. -
Battle of Shiloh
The battle of Shiloh started on April 7, 1862. It was in Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant led the battle of Shiloh for the Union army. The confederate army got a surprise attack on the Union forces. -
Second Battle of Bull Run
The second battle of Bull Run began on August 28, 1862 and ended on August 30, 1862 in Northern Virginia. Robert E. Lee defeated the Union forces. It was a resolution victory for the rebels. The confederates deafened the union forces assault. As a result it made the union forces to retreat in defeat. -
Battle of Antietam
It started on September 17, 1862. The battle of Antietam was important because it showed the union that they could stand against the confederate army. It was invasion in Maryland. It’s also called Battle of Sharpsburg. -
Emancipation Proclamation
President Abraham Lincoln wanted to free slaves. The Emancipation Proclamation was a order from Lincoln to free slaves in ten states. The Emancipation Proclamation did not free states right away. Two states still allowed slavery during the Emancipation Proclamation they were Kentucky and Delaware. -
Siege of Vicksburg
The battle of siege of Vicksburg started in May 18, 1863 and ended on July 4, 1863. It gave the union army to have access to the Mississippi River. Vicksburg was a crucial fortress of the Confederacy. -
Gettysburg
It was a plan of Robert E. Lee’s to invade the north and force them to end the war. It was a big fail. The union army won the Gettysburg battle. General George G. Meade was with the union army. -

The reconstruction was when the South opened public schools as the first state. It was also when they put laws against racial discrimination. They let that law go as far as public transport and space in general. This begin in December 8, 1863 and ended in March 31 1877. -

Abraham Lincoln beat George B. McClellan In the election. This occurred on November 4, 1864. Lincoln was re-elected because people believe him when he reassured everyone that he was going to make sure it was a success. This took place at Baltimore, Maryland. In Lincoln’s Re-election the northerners were divided. -
Robert E. Lee Surrenders
Robert E. Lee surrender to Northern Virginia, on April 9, 1865. Robert surrendered because he didn’t want anything to happen to the south. Robert surrendered in Appomattox in Northern Virginia. When Robert E. Lee surrendered he stop the Civil War. -

April 14, 1865 John Wilkes Booth shot Abraham Lincoln. He was shot Petersen House, Washington DC. Lincoln Assassination was when Abraham Lincoln died. -
Confederation Formed
July 1, 1867 the confederation was formed. The congress thought that they needed a more powerful union and a government to when war or battles. The confederation was mainly formed to defeat Great Britain. Sir John A. MacDonald put forward the Confederation.
