Cotton Gin
In the south Eli Whitneys invented the cotton gin which produced cotton and made production for farmers easier. They were able to profit more. It contributed to the expansion of slavery. Northern states had actually abolished or enacted laws for gradual emancipation. After Napolean decided not to use the Louisiana territory to build an empire he chose to sell it. He offered it to the United States. The territory was sols for 15 million dollars and doubled the size of the united States. The American System
It was aplan developed by president Madison to move the United States to economic independence. It included three major points; establishment of protective tariff, rechartering of the national bank, and sponsership of transportation systems. The American Sysytem was promoted by Henry Clay. Madison and Clay both supported Tariffs and were able to get the Tariff of 1816 approved. Nat Turners Rebellion
Nat Turner's Rebellion was a slave rebellion that took place in Virginia.It was led by Nat Turner, rebel slaves killed anywhere from 55 to 65 people, the highest number of death caused by any slave uprising in the American South. -

A treaty signed between Mexico and the United states after they had been fighting for about a year. The American Troops had been winning.
