A young 15 year old girl named Mary Jemison is captured and made a captive while the rest of her family are killed and scalped due to a heavy load. She is taken by the Seneca and marries and Indian and whose two children. One in which dies right after birth. -

Braddock dies due to fatal wounds. -
Smallpox takes over Native Americans.
Smallpox spreads through the Indian camps and kills a majority of them. -
Gen. Forbes wins for British at Ft. Duquesne.
General Forbes is granted supplies from the colonists and it helps him win Fort Duquesne. This is a valuable source for the British later on. -
Founding of Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is the first newspaper company west of the Alleghenies and was founded by John Scull.It has published the Constitution of the United States. -
The official founding of Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh officially becomes a city on March 18, 1816. The mayor of this newly created city is named Ebenezer Denney. -
Great Fire of Pittsburgh
The great fire of Pittsburgh demolishes much of the city and leaves 12,000 residents homeless. The fire started on the corner of the Blvd. of Allies and Stanwix street by a washer women, where the school City Charter High School and Stanwix Apartments stands today. -

The Northern Sates of North America win the Civil War. There are now new rights and President Abraham Lincoln established the Gettysburg address. He is soon after assassinated. -

The Pirates have made it into the World Series. They have also won the game and since then have not made it to the World Series. -
Luna Park
Luna Park is one of Pittsburgh's first parks. Kennywood, another theme opens soon after by a few years. Luna Park as experienced two trageties. One in which a young woman was eaten by a lion and another where it caught on fire. Luna PArk was not rebuilt after the fire. -
Homestead Grays/National Negro League
The National Negro League was the first black league to join the NBL. The were also taken by the name of the Homestead Grays. -
Liberty Tunnels Built
The Liberty Tubes were officially built in the year 1924. The two sons of Joseph G. Armsrong have cut the ribbon to open the Liberty Bridge. They are still in use today. -
St. Patrick's Day Flood
The great flood in Pittsburgh occured in downtown. On was on St. Patrick's Day hence where it got its name. -

George Westinghouse has announced a project. He hoped it would solve "much of the mystery surrounding the structure of matter." It would gamma rays to split uranium atoms. -

David L. Lawrence is elected mayor of Pittsburgh. A building in Pittsburgh is named after him: David L. Lawrence convention center. -

the Pittsburgh Fountain reopens after some difficulties being ran. It is one of the most popular places in Pittsburgh today.
