As a result of this war, Allies recieved victory, the Japanese Empire fell, and the Cold War began with the United States and the Soviet Union. -
Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor Website Pearl Harbor, a base for the United States Navy, was attacked by the Japanese military which catalysts the United States involvement in WWII. As a military rebuttle, the United States launched "Little Boy" in 1945, ending WWII for the Japanese. -
World Trade Center Attacks
In New York City on the morning of September 11, 2001 an Islamic terrorist group known as al-Qaeda attacked the United States when two airplanes struck the World Trade Center complex. Almost 3,000 people died as a result of Osama bin Laden's organized attack. In 2011, this terrorist leader was captured and killed by U.S. forces.
