Abraham Lincoln gets assasinated
The American president who led america through the civil war is assasinated. He was assasinated by John Wolkes Booth. He was in a coma for 9 hours before dying. -
Planes
(not actual date) For the first time it was able to fly through the air. Man was now able to travel over land in the sky, once only a novel idea. They have now been modernised into jets and airbuses. -
First Transcontinental Railroad completed in US
The first ever transcontinental railroad was built. It spanned 2,858 kilmoters from California to Iowa. It was the largest railroad in its time and crossed almost half the country. -

Ned Kelly was an Australian bushramger and is considered by some a folk hero. He was also considered to be a cold blooded killer as he led the rebellion against the anglo-Australian ruling class. He was hung at Old Melbourne Gaol after a shootout with a local police -

(not actual date) Jack the ripper was an English serial killer. He was also known by the alias of "The Whitechapel Murderer" and "Leather Apron". His real name was not known. He murdered 7 english prostitutes and conducted surgical excercises upon their corpse. -

(Not Exact Date) Aspirin was a medical breakthrough as it allowed for quick pain reliief. It was used to combat fevers and minor pains. In some cases it has also been shown to reduce risk of heart attack and stroke. -

Australia finally beccomes it's own independant country. Even though it still goes under the brittish crown. Australia has it's own economy and prime minister which makes it's own laws. -

(not actual Date) The second Boer ended later than the first did. as it lasted 2 years instead of 1. The war was the brittish facing gueriila's in south Africa. -
The Titanic was completed
The Titanic was the world largest ship ever created. It was to go on a voyage from Southhampton to New York. The Titanic was over 50 meters tall and over 200 meters long. -
The titanic sinks
The Titanic hits an iceberg on its maiden voyage and the unsinkable ship sunk 2 hours 40 minutes later. 1514 people were lost and 710 were saved. There wsa a ship near enough to save all of the passengers, however they never came.
