    It was an order by president Lincoln that gave a new meaning to the war. This new goal would be to fight for the freedom of the slaves.

    Lincoln gave a speech about how this war would start to become a war for all men’s freedoms.

  • The Black Codes

    Blacks signed contracts that made them basically back into slavery this was the southern way of trying to bring back slavery.

  • Lincoln’s Assassination

    Lincoln’s Assassination
    He was watching a play in Ford Theatre when John Wilkes Booth came up behind Lincoln and shot him in the head. John Wilkes Booth was killed 12 days later.
