Exposition - Alex the lion wishes Marty the zebra a happy birthday. He tells Marty to improve his act because Marty is bored of doing the same thing every day. -
Alex and Gloria
Exposition - Alex tells Gloria the hippo that people are coming to the zoo and it is time to wake up. -
Central Park Zoo
Exposition - This scene tells us where the animals are at, the Central Park Zoo where the 4 animal friends, Alex, Marty, Gloria, and Melman are. This is were the wacky penguins are too. -
Alex and Melman
Exposition - Alex tells Melman the giraffe that it is another big day in the Big Apple at the Central Park Zoo. -
The famous Alex the lion
Exposition - This shows how Alex the lion loves the people and the people love Alex the lion. He is doing his lion roar. -
The penguins secret
Exposition - The penguins tell Marty that they want to go to the wild. The penguins don’t want Marty to tell anyone else about it. Marty finds out that the wild is a place they can actually go to. -
Marty's wish
Exposition - Marty tells his friends that he wants to go to the wild. Alex tells Marty that going to the wild is a crazy idea. Alex wants to stay in New York and be loved by the people. -
Marty's adventure
Rising Action - Marty goes to the train station to go to the wild. Marty’s friends wondered where he went. -
Marty's rescue
Rising Action - Melman, Gloria, and Alex are going to save their friend Marty by taking the train to Grand Central Station. -
The worse situation
Rising Action - Melman, Gloria, and Alex went to save Marty but the situation got worse. The 4 friends were fighting and then the Police and Animal Control came to Grand Central Station and captured them. -
The transfer
Rising Action - Alex, Marty, Melman, and Gloria are getting transferred from the zoo to the Kenya Wildlife Preserve. They get transferred by a cargo ship. The penguins also get transferred with them. -
The argument
Rising Action - The 4 friends argue and cause their boxes to get unlocked. The Penguins turned around the ship which made the boxes that had the 4 friends in them fall off the ship. -
The shipwreck
Rising Action - The friends get shipwrecked on the island of Madagascar. The friends think they are in San Diego but they find out they are actually in Madagascar. -
Lemur discovery
Rising Action - The 4 friends find out that they are in Madagascar and they are not in San Diego when they find the lemurs. -
The opinions
Rising Action - Alex cuts the beach into 2 and tells Marty to stay on his side because Alex is angry at him because they are stuck on the island. Marty wants to stay in the wild and do what he wants, on the other hand, Alex wants to go back to New York. -
Casa del Wild
Rising Action - Alex calmed down and Marty build a shelter so the 3 other friends and himself can live in it. Marty called it “Casa del Wild”. Then the 4 friends make friends with the lemurs. -
Alex vs. Marty
Climax - Alex has not eaten in 2 days and he tries to eat Marty because Alex is a lion which is a predator and Marty is a zebra which is prey. Alex chases Marty and then Alex goes to the Fossa side of the island because he realized what he was doing and did not want to hurt Marty. -
The Fossa side of the island
Falling Action - Alex is at the Fossa side of the island and he misses his friends and his friends miss him. -
The boat rescue
Falling Action - Melman, Marty, and Gloria see a boat and try to make it come to the island. -
Marty rescues Alex
Falling Action - Marty goes and finds Alex on the Fossa side of the island. Marty tells Alex that there is a boat and they can go home. Marty tells Alex he is not leaving without him. -
The Fossa fight
Falling Action - Alex, Marty, Gloria, and Melman fight off the Fossa and save each other. -
Alex learns to eat fish
Resolution - The penguins teach Alex to eat fish instead of his friends. Alex says the fish is better than steak. -
The lemurs thank the 4 friends
Resolution - The lemurs thank the 4 friends for chasing away the Fossa and saving them. -
The happy ending
Resolution - The lemurs think that the 4 friends are leaving but the 4 friends stay because the boat is out of gas.
