Burton Act
This Act preserved Niagara Falls from hydroelectric power facilities. This act protected the resourse of hydraulic of the fall for later genarations. It is important because it provented the demage of over-using hydraulic from happening to Niagara Falls. -
Georgia v. Tennessee Copper Company and Ducktown Sulphur
This event shows the seriousness of the pollution that factories created at that time period. It apples to the Fourteenth Amendment which is equal protection. The final result of this course justiced based on the Fourteenth Amendment, this is one of earliest courses that were ended like this. -

The establishment of the National Park Service provided places for people to camp and it also protects the natrual resources in the national parks. It is important to us nowadays becuase there are about 400 national parks in the U.S. which means that it plays quite a big role in our lives. -

Salt Lake City was the first U.S. city to cunduct a large scale survey of air pollution. This is a big step for the environmental policy development. It is important for us becuase the air quality is much better than it used to be, and it all thanks to the awareness to air pollution. -
CCC
The Civilian Conservation Corps was formed under the Emergency Conservation Work Act during the Great Depression. It is a "peacetime" army that protect natrual resources. Because CCC camps existed in every State, it has a great impact on everyon state. -

Over 100,000,000 acres of prairie land were affected by the Dust Bowl storm, and this act is in effort to control it. Becuase of this act, U.S. land use and conservation are protected. For us nowadays it is important because it created a safer and cleaner environment. -

This treaty protected Antarctica from the dumping of nuclear waste. The condition of Antarctica has a great impact on the globle climate, it is important to protect Antarctica for humans. -

The book described the ecological and health effects of pesticides and chemicals. The concept lead the governmenet to outlaw the use of pesticides like DDT several years later. Because of it, we can still see birds and other animals around us. -

The questions of Sierra Club's leagal standing brought the attentions to the Fourteenth Amendment, because the environment impacted everyone, were not subject to legal standing rules. This effects us in the way of factories cannot pollute the environment as much as they want to. -

She lived for 735 days in the top of a 180-feet tall California Coast Redwood tree and successfully blocked its destruction. This is such a remarkabel movement to protect the rare species. Her action inspire us to do more on our own to protect the environment.
