  • The First Continental Congress

    The First Continental Congress
    Twelve delegates from all colonies other than Georgia met in Philadelphia to organize some a sort of resistance to the British. This was due to the Intolerable acts, and many other events leading to this.
  • Second Continental Congress

    Second Continental Congress
    The second Continental Congress was pre planned by those at the first one, and was bound to happen then. But at this time, the British and Patriots were already at war with each other. So at this meeting, they planned out the war, naming ambassadors, creating a one unified money system, and naming generals to the newly found Continental Army.
  • Olive Branch Petition

    Olive Branch Petition
    The Olive Branch Petition was the last attempt from the colonist to be peaceful before full war began. This document was basically saying that they would pledge loyalty to the crown, so long as they got the full rights that other British citizens got. Alas, the King never read this document, and war began.
  • Prohibitory Act

    Prohibitory Act
    This act removed the colonies from the Kings protection, and cut off all trade from England to the colonies. This was Britain readying for a war between the two continents.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    This was the colonist doubling down and saying that they are independent from the British now, and that they will take the repercussions for that. This also was a brief writing on why they did it, and the liberties they desired.
